Nestled along the bank of the Red River, Elmwood is home to some 17,000 people. Here you’ll find a rich cultural and social diversity, a thriving local economy, well-kept homes and streets, and beautiful parks and green spaces. Above all, you will find a caring community focused on the well-being and prosperity of its residents.
To better serve this growing community, the Elmwood Community Resource Centre was founded in March 2001 by the Elmwood Interagency Network, Chalmers Neighbourhood Project and West Elmwood Residents Association, in consultation with the Elmwood Community.
In May of 2002, Elmwood Community Resource Centre, Chalmers Neighborhood Project, and West Elmwood Residents Association amalgamated their three organizations to create the Elmwood Community Resource Centre (ECRC). ECRC will oversee the work done by Elmwood Community Resource Centre and the community development initiatives in Elmwood.

FACES OF ELMWOOD
We started a project called “Faces of Elmwood”, molded after Humans of New York, which features a deserving community member.
The idea is for people to learn and be inspired by their neighbours through reading about new ideas and stories. It will also hold up a window into other people’s lives and show the reader that other people have similar thoughts, ideas, and struggles. The project will also promote the idea of Elmwood as being a strong, diverse, interesting community.
